Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (The 2/4th Battalion)

Research and Resources around the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry during WWI

Lieutenant Edward Patrick Neary, M.D.

The picture above is from the photograph of Officers, December 1918. He is the only individual in an US Army uniform.

From G. K. Rose, The Story of the 2/4th Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.

Listed among the officers of the 2/4th Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry at Armistice is Lieutenant E. P. Neary (U.S.), Medical Officer.

I’ve found the following paperwork from www.ancestry.com.

1 Lieutenant MC 20 March 1918 from Officers’ Reserve Corps; Captain 17 Feb 1919. MC to Discharge Washington DC; American Expeditionary Forces Somme Offensive; Defensive Sector. American Expeditionary Forces 24 Apr 1918 to 2 June 1919. Honorable discharge.

WWII Registration Card:

I would love to learn more about Lieutenant Neary’s service record during WW1.
