London Gazette: Promoted to a Lieutenant 14th September 1914, then part of the 4th Battalion.

Captain A. H. Brucker was the Commanding Officer of C Company when the battalion went to France.

From G. K. Rose, The Story of the 2/4th Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.

August 1916
“Major R. Bellamy, D.S.O., came from the Royal Sussex Regiment and assumed command early in August. Robinson, an officer from the Middlesex and one of the best the Battalion ever had, Callender and Barton also joined about this time. Brucker, of C Company, became Adjutant of the 61st Divisional School.”

November 1916
“At Albert, Bennett was taken from A Company to act as Second in Command of the Berks. Brown assumed command of his company and Robinson about this time of C Company, Brucker having returned to the 61st Divisional School, which was set up at St. Riquier.”

August 1917
“C Company possessed two Captains, Brucker and Harris, and had as platoon commanders, Hawkes, Matthews, and Jones.”

“On the Battalion’s right the failure of C Company, in which Brucker had been wounded, to pass Pond Farm left the flank of D
